Walked from my job near the South Sea Street Port over to W4th after work.

Actually took a long route... going crosstown to Church, then up to Leonard, crosstown again, turning at the alley. Through the alley, back down to Mercer, then down to below West Broadway and all the way over to Houston and then cutting through Greenwich Village down to W4th.

Lots of amazing photos to upload and then post.

Then hopped on the train up to 23rd street. Walked over to 26th and 10th ave. Checked out some amazing Live Painting.

Then from 26th down to 11th ave, up to 27th, over to 10th avenue again and then up to 33rd and over to 8th.

Definitely a good walk and felt really refreshing.

Then came home to another wonderful phone conversation.

Got Friday pretty much locked in I think...hopefully the work day won't be too hectic.

and I see I never posted this and now I must sleep..........

and away I go

Thursday is DONE!

One more day to go till the weekend.

Not exactly looking forward to this weekend, cause I have absolutely no plans other than probably stopping by for my god niece's birthday party. They're going to be three!

Still have Friday to get through though. I think I'm hanging with Nick that night, but who knows...

Next weekend, now that should be exciting. I guess I'll use this weekend to really play catch up on... I don't know what... projects I keep neglecting?

What I want to have for lunch.

I tried making plans with my friend p0ps, but he was in the airport of JFK about to head to the west coast.

Man, my timing sucks.

I guess I'll just take a walk and see what grabs my eye.

Got a 2 PM meeting.

I'm thinking tonight I'm going to check out this art exhibit of Tattoo artists doing live Painting on huge photos by some noted party photographer.

At least I think that's what I'm going to go do. Unless ya know, it freaking pors like it did this morning. Then I'm just going to go home.

I hope it doesn't pour, I need to get out and experience some culture, I've been neglecting that.

Okay, off to look for lunch. Hope Livejournal is more bustling with excitement (entries and comments) when I get back to it around 2:30/3.

it's Donald Westlake and Darwyn Cooke together.

After what Cooke did for The Spirit, him bringing Parker's world alive with Westlake's go ahead and actual input is just... WOW.

(I'm sure there will be cooler news out of CCI through the next four days, but that is one awesome announcement to start with)

I was watching the season Premiere of MONK and saw that they had killed off Dr. Kroger. It wasn't till the end of the episode though when they posted an In Memory of Stanley Kamel that I discovered this was a necessary plot choice, not one where the actor had quit or was written out.

I don't know how I missed it, but Stanley Kamel passed away in April of this year.

Stanley Kamel was purely an actor's actor, having roles in everything from "Lou Grant" to "Quincy" to "Mork & Mindy" and reoccurring roles on "Cagney & Lacey" , "L.A. Law" and even "Beverly Hills 90210". He was just one of those consummate professionals who when you knew he was in something you could trust that at least his scenes would be enjoyable. The type of actor an actor would be happy to have worked with I am betting.

Sometimes I wish I could let my inner evil out... but not just simply, like being an asshole to someone who pissed me off but just going all out maniacal super villian.

I'm not willing to sacrifice something like the person I adore to join the cluthces of evil... especially when she's the one that stops me from being evil.

Still...sometimes, I want death rays and ice beams and power gloves and just shove, kick, spit and punch my way to a bloody, dangerous path of danger and destruction.

Having another doldrum day at work. Looking forward to going home. Hopefully today I'll actually do some projects or at least catch up on TV. Care more about talking to friends though as that's much more relaxing and after days like this where I do tons of work but feel like its once all pointless, I need that. It could be wrose, I could be doing nothing.

I'm going to throw some nerd notes out there and see if they stick.

1.) Deadline, a danish game developer is working on downloadable Watchmen games. I'll play those based on how good Total Overdose was and how good Faith and a .45 looks.

2.) There's going to an Episode II of ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS. This time focusing on the Bounty Hunters even more.

3.) I really want to quit watching wrestling, but I can't... so I give you a new exlusive online show as Ric Flair gives advice on living.

4.) Here's a link to Jim Carrey's next film YES MAN, isn't this essentially LIAR, LIAR, sorta?

The STRAND on Fulton Street is closing its doors forever on August 15th. To that fact they are now and will be 50% off all books!

Now I don't need any books, we all know that, at least not books to read! Yet at Strand's usual 10-20% off cover + 50% off I couldn't resist grabbing some art books. I got four of them and two of them combined would've cost more cover price then I paid for the whole swag.

I got one graffiti book, two Character Design books (one with a DVD of cartoons featuring characters) and a fourth book chronicling a major art exhibit published by the museum that is showing it.

So a mostly duldrum day was made just a tiny bit better. I still wish it was 5 PM though, I really wanna just take a two hour nap.

How the fuck did I get on a Mailing list for Alliance for Marriage?
It’s basically an obscenely religious organization looking to destroy gay rights through the shield of trying to protect the sanctity of marriage.

The world doesn't need marriage... it just needs commitment. That's how I personally see it. I also don't think the world needs ANY organized religion.

I don't see when or how anything I've done online would get me on a mailing list for that type of bulldong.

POST: This isn't to say I don't respect my friends who are in awesome marriages or will be getting married soon, this is completely seperate from that because you folks are obviously not the type of people who would agree with the way this "company" is pushing it's cause. You wouldn't be my friend if you did.

This weekend while looking over Kim's copy of Dave Barry's Complete Guide to Guys, I made the final realization of the subject line.

It's something I've known for a long time. The essays in the book really cemented it.

This particular essay, (which is the one I just happened to actually read fully while at Kim's) really cemented it... because in this essay, I would be Elaine. That is seriously how my mind works sometimes.

Yup, not a guy. Not in the least. Okay, maybe sometimes... but really... no.

Damn you Hancock. You had so much potential.

When John Hancock... who NEVER gets a real name even after finding out he's 1000's of years old and has a wife and has almost died a ton of times is in prison he does a very specific thing.

He draws on the wall with his finger; he repeatedly draws a sun, with an eagle and a silhouette of a kid and an adult. This is never ever explored. What is with the Eagle motif?

Is he supposed to be Horus or maybe Osiris? Who would be Set? Is Mary then Isis?

Or are they Zeus and Hera?

Odin and Frigg?

Another thing is that Mary mentions that THEY keep killing them. Not just people, but THEY. Like a very specific group.

I am also completely lost on the idea that Angels/Gods/Super Powered beings would exist but that when they meet their PRE-DESTINED/FATED lover they become mortal.

What the fuck is the point of that? That’s some seriously illogical writing. I blame Akiva. I always blame Akiva.

HANCOCK Views (with no spoilers)

There's lot I liked about Hancock. There's lots I didn't like about Hancock.

I liked all the acting, I liked the cinematography, I liked the jokes.

I didn't like the utterly ridiculous origin, the dropped plot threads, the sudden shift in film type...

what I didn't like the most though? The waste of talent.

They had Donald Gibb and he said...one line?

Then they had Thomas Lennon and Johnny Galecki and I think they had 4 lines between the two of them? MAYBE? Maybe only three?

What the hell were they hired for?

It like there's a whole half hour of this film that was dropped on the cutting room when it NEEDED to actually be in there. I mean, entire plot threads go completely unexplored! (I think I'll discuss some of the issues in a secondary lj-cut entry) It was a very haphazard film and I really wanted to like it.

How do you not take advantage of the fact that you hired Ogre in a what at first was a hardcore comedy?

Home, happy, relaxed. Getting all ready to watch VH1 HONORS The Who at 9 PM (yup, skipping out on TNA for it and I'll be better off for this).

I'm sure VH1 will reair it plenty over the weekend... but I won't be near a TV with cable and I won't be doing much if any TV watching anyways.

So after the nerdernet started splitting in half for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (as so they should)... it seems today is all about WATCHMEN. Not a bad trailer I'll say. Definitely a good teaser to make one clamor for more.

Okay I thought Ii had more to say, but I'm just really tired and looking forward to resting, hearing some Townsend songs and eventually cleaning up and going to bed and getting to sleep in till at 9 AM on a Friday. Ah....
