Highly quotable, yet... I can't recall a single quote
Iron Man:
"It was good... I enjoyed it... I'm glad I went."
is the best and only quote I can think for it. I have other thoughts, I'll be putting all those under a spoiler cut.
The technical scenes took a little too long. Especially the ones in the beginning building the first suit. The bits of building Mark 2 were funny, especially Downey's interaction with the slightly AI helpful hands, but it was a little too much.
Favreau and his editor did some fun and interesting camera/scene splicing early on. I was kind of sad to see that not followed up more later on.
I didn't like that "Happy" Hogan disappeared... I wonder if Jon plans to give himself a larger part in the next film. How we'll do that when sharing screen time with Howard, Jackson and whoever plays the various Avengers (not to mention Ed Norton) and whatever villian they get.
I'm assuming the next villain will be either The Mandarin or... Madame Masque. I'd rather for Madame Masque as the movie was surely lacking in females other than Gwyneth and the one reporter.
If they do go with Mandarin, it's going to have be either Ken Watanabe (even though he already was the fake Ra's Al Ghul), B.D. Wong (maybe a little too short), Gordon Liu, or best fucking choice? James Hong. It was the role he was BORN to play. He'd be a perfect Mandarin and his scenes against Downey would be just amazing. They could do the comedy and seriousness and the balance would be perfect.
If they do go with Madame Masque? I can think of no one better than Heather Graham. That's partially a joke... (wonders if anyone will get it.)
I had more, but I've totally lost my thoughts. Yup, train of thoughts got derailed, but in the best way.
