And in wrestling news...
How awesome is it that Charlie Haas ("of Pain") returned last night getting a win over his tag partner and breakout superstar Shelton Benjamin. I hope that isn't the end of Charlie's good luck on RAW.
As cool as Benjamin is, Haas is ten times cooler. He's not a better worker in terms of athleticism... I mean Benjamin is a king there, but Haas sure as hell understands story-telling, working the audience, feeling the flow and all that much much better. He's also 100 times better on the microphone. QWell, a monkey with a mouth full of bananas is better on the microphone then Shelton. Hell... old school Dean Malenko is better on the mike than Shelton.
Yet, as bad as Shelton is on the microphone? He's no where as horrendous as his current opponent and feuder, Rob Van Dam.
Good thinking there folks... it's a damn good thing they haven't had to actually do regular promos against each other.
The bad thing? The Charlie Haas appearance was the ONLY really good thing on the WHOLE show. (The Trish Strtus/Mickie James stuff I have to admit was higly entertaining and I always love seeing guys like The Spirit Squad and Alejandro Estrada, but they're appearances on this week's RAW were nothing exciting to write about...)
Vince, you want people to actually convert to McMahonism... try injecting some QUALITY into your religion... I mean product.
Although, other religions lack quality and have nonsensical concepts, ideas and stories, are full of hypocrisy and the MAJORITY of the followers are idiots and yet somehow these places stay in "business" and none of them make as much money as the WWE, so maybe Vince is onto something.
Serve the country crap... it's obviously what they want! Sometimes I just wish Vince realized there's still people like me and the wrestling fans on my friend's list who's patience is growing really thin. Vince is really lucky that celebrity cooking show didn't seem to capture the fun and excitement of Iron Chef.
