My nerdy "tidbit" of the day
Earlier today [info]popfiend reminded me of Toxic Avenger: The Musical.

The best thing about the show is the music, which is previewed with SIX TRACKS off this online mp3 player.

This is just as good as Bat Boy: The Musical, Reefer Madness, and yes... Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, for those whose musical tastes are really on the nerd side.

I use this icon because I think a Buckaroo Banzai Musical would be really awesome...
oh wait... it was a musical... sort of.

    [wrestling] Gripe!
    So...

Jake Hager just debuted on ECW.

    Make that JACK SWAGGER.

    and here's my gripe...

I know WWE likes to create their own talent and superstars... BUT... Jake Hager was there's from DAY ONE. He was a nobody and WWE had him Deep South Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling developing the Jake Hager name and persona, along with wearing old school wrestling tights and everything... only to have him come in as nothing, boring Jack Swagger, a big guy who had trouble defeating a guy who looked like a midget next to him.

When they brought in Matt Sydall and made him become Evan Bourne it somehow worked, but I still don't like the name and Evan Bourne is still not Matt Sydall, cocky, cool, chill, Preppy Matt Sydall.

It even was okay when they turned Atlas DaBone into Ricky Ortiz because he got to keep his personality. He's still an cocky, silly, stupid ass. I don't like him though... but I didn't like Atlas DaBone.

This brings me to the debacle of what they did to "Wildcat" Chris Harris. The former tag team partner of "Cowboy" James Storm in America's Most Wanted. A noted property from rival TNA was brought in as Braden Walker, a nobody who was given no chance in hell with his horrible ring outfit and horrible ring name. It was one of the biggest fails of WWE Creative in years...

and I see the same ready to happen to Jack Swagger.

I'm glad that Mike Knox is still being given a chance, but he still hasn't been the same Mike Knox that existed in DSW and they really need to let him be THAT guy, not scary, ugly Mike Knox... but charismatic, good looking without the dirty beard Mike Knox.

I'm not sure I understand the point of a farm league if when they get out of the farm they're told to forget everything they learned and to never ever used what they learned.

Then of course they let Kofi Kingston stay the same, and The Miz, and Johnnny Nitro/Morrison... so... seriously? I'm at lost.

    end gripe.

    That show SCARE TACTICS
I've seen it a ton... but still I react...

    "Wow, people are stupid..."

Here's some examples from the show:
A girl thought she there to check on the power and she sees some dude get electrocuted. Then a cyborg comes out and starts killing people and then a scientist starts screaming at her
"You came here to steal my secrets didn't you?!?!" and she's ACTUALLY scared. She thinks its a real fucking cyborg!

There was this one where a girl goes to be a baby sitter. The father comes out and says that his wife is crazy cause the baby died a year ago, but please just play along. Later she goes upstairs and the kid shows up and the mom and when the dad comes back, they can't see him. They tell her the husband died a year ago and she's BUYING it!

and then it gets ruined because the last one... I won't get into the description, but the scare tactee.... seems like he's acting and it ruins the illusion.

and I now know the show is all scripted. How do I know this?

Because almost all of them end with the following dialog exchange.

    "Are you scared?"
    "Yes"
    "You shouldn't be..."
    "Why not?"
    "Because... you're on Scare Tactics!"

(this is what happens when one tries to type entries while watching the show...)
