Why the Japanese/Asian movie industry kicks Hollywood's ass...
They are willing to make serious attempts and adapt any and practically all of their manga and animes into live-action films. They did Tetsujin last year and a few others over the years. Including Cutie Honey, Uzumaki, etc.

This year there's an adaptation of LOVELY COMPLEX. You can see a high quality Quicktime version of the trailer here. It's amazing how accurate and close the film looks. The only thing America has gotten this close with was Sin City.

They also made a DEATH NOTE film. Quicktime Japan has a high quality trailer of this as well. If you're not familiar with DEATH NOTE, the Wikipedia article is actually really well done. I predict/expect an American remake of this by the middle of next year or by the end of this year even.

and then of course they tackled one of the CRAZIEST & NUTTY Mangas turned Anime's EVER... CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL! The film has everything too, including the Gorilla!

It's showing in some Asian Cinema Fest in New York right now, but you can see the Japanese trailer here.

If I had my a lot of money and a REGION-FREE DVD Player I'd get this amazing special edition from the UK of the film.
